Straightaway was founded to help SNFs be more in control of their staffing needs. Through Straightaway’s Learning Management Software and nurse aide curriculum, dozens of SNFs around the country have established onsite nurse aide training programs resulting in several instantly employable nurse aides.
We didn’t just stop there, though. In 2019, Straightaway established a dedicated team of recruiters to help our customers fill up their onsite nurse aide classes with high quality students. So what is Straightaway Student Recruiting?
Straightaway Student Recruiting is available for any nurse aide class scheduled in our Learning Management System. We advertise our clients’ classes across multiple job platforms and love seeing the applications start rolling in! Our dedicated recruiting team engages new applicants right away and promotes our clients’ nurse aide training programs and future employment opportunities.
Straightaway has two major goals with our pre-screening calls for student applicants. First, we make sure to clearly explain what a nurse aide does. It is critical to set expectations correctly from the beginning to avoid any poor cultural fits or possible burnout (and subsequent turnover) down the line. We make sure to highlight the rewarding parts of being a nurse aide as well as clearly identify the challenges. After learning more about the job, applicants can better assess whether it makes sense for them as a career path.
The second goal of the pre-screening call is to learn more about the applicant’s experience and motivation so we can pass along the highest quality candidates to our clients. We enjoy asking candidates to share stories from their past when they had to demonstrate critical nurse aide skills like patience, compassion, and resilience.
By the time an applicant file is sent to our clients, the applicant is engaged, pre-screened, and informed about what happens next. Clients access and manage qualified candidate files within Straightaway’s Learning Management Software, using an easy-to-use interface that allows clients to view profile details, scan resumes, obtain contact information, track interview schedules, take notes, enroll candidates as learners in classes, or reject candidates who may not be a good fit.
