This week, California took an important step forward to prevent critical shortages of Certified Nurse Assistants in long-term care.  The state legislature amended their current nurse assistant training statutes to open the door for more prospective nurse assistants to get trained and certified by allowing online and distance learning course formats to be considered for approval by the California Department of Public Health.

This is exciting news for us at Straightaway! Our courseware is designed for CNAs by way of utilizing video and online components. The state legislature’s reasoning for the change centers around the growing need for Certified Nurse Assistants and a difficulty that nursing facilities in California are having finding and retaining them. Our courseware now meets the requirements outlined in the new legislation and we are ready to support California organizations interested in increasing their nurse assistant workforce!

Stay tuned for more great news.
